What this site sets

No advertising cookies, and no analytics cookie either. The site loads Google Analytics 4, but consent for analytics storage is denied by default for every visitor in every country, and there is no banner that can grant it — so the tag operates cookieless. Google’s tag writes nothing to your device and stores no identifier. Our own measurement code writes one thing, and only if you ask it to: the gr_int internal-visit flag, described below under Excluding our own visits.

Why there is no consent banner

Because on an ordinary visit there is nothing to consent to. Consent is denied by default for every storage category before any tag loads, and the site never asks to change that — so a banner would be a control with one setting, which is worse than no banner at all. The one thing this site can write to a device, the internal-visit flag described below, is written only by a reader who deliberately asks for it.

The consent defaults are set before any script that could use them, and they deny every storage category — advertising, advertising identifiers, personalisation, analytics — for every visitor, with no regional carve-out. That last part matters: the common pattern is to deny storage for visitors in Europe and grant it everywhere else. This site does not do that, and the deny applies wherever you are reading from.

Excluding our own visits

One exception, named here rather than passed over in silence: on every page view the measurement code checks whether the gr_int flag is present in your browser. That is our own exclusion for internal visits, so that our test traffic does not end up in the figures. It is written only when a page is opened with ?internal=1 appended — as a cookie with a lifetime of one year, and additionally in local storage. Without that, nothing is written, and nothing on this site links to it. It holds a single flag and nothing about you. You delete it by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

What the calculator stores

Nothing. The figures you enter live in the page while it is open and are not written to local storage, session storage, or a cookie. There is no “resume where you left off” on this site, deliberately — the thing that would be resumed is your salary.

Managing it yourself

If you would rather block the analytics tag entirely, any content blocker or your browser’s own tracking protection will do it, and the site works identically with it blocked — nothing on it depends on the tag loading.

Last updated aug 2026. This page is generated from the site’s own configuration rather than written to describe it, so it cannot go on describing a tag the site has stopped loading — or stay silent about one it has started. The privacy policy covers what happens to what you type.
