Terms of use
This site is informational. What it produces is an estimate of a statutory entitlement from the figures you enter — not legal advice, not a settlement statement, and not a document any employer or authority is bound by.
What this site is
GratuityMeter is an informational calculator. It estimates the end-of-service gratuity a private-sector employee in the UAE is entitled to under Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, from figures you enter, and shows the steps it took to get there.
It is not legal advice, not tax advice, not a settlement statement, and not a document any employer, court or authority is bound by. Nothing on it creates a relationship between you and us beyond your reading a page.
What the result is worth
It is an estimate from the figures you gave it. It cannot see your employment contract, your payroll records, your leave history, or anything you owe your employer — and each of those changes what is actually paid to you. A figure that matches your settlement is good evidence the arithmetic agrees; a figure that does not is a reason to find the step where they diverge, not proof that anyone is wrong.
The figures behind the calculation follow the sources cited on each page. None of them has been through our own final sign-off, and a rule that changed recently may not be reflected yet. Where this site and a cited source disagree, the cited source governs. About this site sets out exactly which sources those are and what has and has not been checked.
Use it for anything you like
There is no account, no sign-up, no fee, and no restriction on using the calculator or reading the guides — including at work, including for someone else, and including to check a settlement you have been offered. If you want to link to a page, link to it.
What we ask is that you do not present a result from this site as an authoritative statement of what you are owed, because it is not one, and doing so in a dispute is more likely to weaken your position than strengthen it. Bringing the working and asking about a specific step is the version that helps.
Liability
This site is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it is complete or current, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for a loss arising from relying on it. That is the ordinary limitation such a site carries, and it is a real one: the honest description of what is offered here is a careful estimate with its reasoning shown, not a guarantee.
For the official amount, ask your employer. For a dispute about what you are owed, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) is the authority for employment matters in the UAE.
Availability and changes
The site may change or become unavailable without notice, and its content is revised as the law and the sourcing behind it change. Substantive changes to the figures are reflected in the “updated” stamp in the footer.
